It’s way too early for the weather to be this warm, so let’s be really still and share a few random thoughts…

There are many things that keep me awake at night. I would appreciate it if Indy car could do away with late night races. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a race where there were only seven cars left at the end.
-
I’m pretty sure that another reason I haven’t been sleeping well probably has to do with the fact that I’m all jacked up on those freeze pop things.
-
School is out for the summer…remember to watch all those young people who are crossing the street with their faces buried in their phones.
-
The older I get the more I enjoy the old Far Side comics…maybe it comes from the ability to comprehend more of the humor.

We attended the annual family reunion this past weekend. I think it finally occurred to me today that I’ve become the age of those who have to take a little more care to keep it going. Although the raisin cream pie was dearly missed, it was a one hundred year old photograph long since lost that reappeared today that caused the biggest stir. It’s the little things sometimes.

The cherry tree seems to be doing alright this year. Some of them are ripe and ready to go but most are still quite green. I tried a few and noticed they are very sweet this year, which I believe is part of the wet spring and little heat. I’ve always felt it a triumph if I get more of them picked than the birds.

Speaking of birds. The jerk rooster has been imprisoned back in the chicken pen and the other night I took a bucket of water out to refill the drinker. He took that opportunity to plan some sort of surprise attack on the back of my legs so I left the bucket in the cage and just shut the gate. When I was calmed down enough to go back he was sitting in the bucket taking a bath. I hate him.

I hope I live to retirement age. The more I think about the things I wish I had free time to do the more tired it makes me. Thus, I can’t wait to retire and take a nap! A guy has to have goals.

Finally this week, I can’t understand fidget spinners. I’m not even going to try. I can see my mother telling me she would give me something to fidget about and that probably was for the best. See you next week…remember, we’re all in this together.
